Watch Panda (Jack Black), the ultimate fan, become one of those that he has idolized his whole life. Like any kid, Panda is different from his father and has dreams of his own. Yet, when he leaves his father’s world behind to chase his dream, he becomes the ultimate outcast.

On his adventure to create his own future and life, Panda decides to try out to be a part of his favorite Kung Fu group. The other five students Tigress (Angelina Jolie), Crane (David Cross), Monkey (Jackie Chan), Viper (Lucy Liu), and Mantis (Seth Rogen) cannot believe that one of them is not the Dragon Warrior. WhenTai Lung (Ian McShane) breaks out of prison, everyone is in danger because he will have his revenge.

Many Levels

Dreamworks did a terrific job of background, characterization, and interplay of the characters in their world. Everything is seamless and the audience quickly becomes part of the action while witnessing what happens to Panda. It is my belief that those of you with more life experiences will laugh harder than others because the show plays on so many levels.

When Panda tries the Training Course it is belly laughs, and giggles followed by uproarious laughter. There were times during the movie when it was difficult to stop laughing, so I wouldn’t miss what was coming next.

This movie has the requisite scary part, so it is not for the very young, or those susceptible to nightmares.

Life Struggles

The story line was predictable; son wants to do something different in life, instead of what father wants for him, son goes against his fathers wishes, and struggles for what he wants in life. The obstacles were huge.

The joy I received from this movie was watching my husband laugh so hard and loud at various situations, that I had to quiet him down as not to disturb others around us. He said it seems like real life unfolding before you. I enjoyed the movie; however, I believe Tom enjoyed it far more. After leaving the theater he was still laughing. Tom thinks there were scary parts in the movie, but I felt they were tolerable.

Kung Fu Panda is a good family movie for sure and good for the soul.
