Family Affair
Misunderstood intentions
never to trust,
alone in a room
filled with righteous ones.
Wearing duplicitous smiles
their evasive eyes
reveal the truth
they assume can’t be seen.
Sealed in a vacuum,
detached from the rest.
An un-crossable line
round an invisible corner.
Who are the chosen
and who gets to decide?
