Balthazar is renowned for its exceptional design. The building was converted from a leather wholesaler’s warehouse to an airy space that can accommodate over 200 people in the dining room and at the zinc bar.

It has a great New York flavor, too. From the very tiny doorway to the bathroom, the interesting characters who eat there, and the excellent food, you will enjoy your visit.
While you are there, you will also enjoy the Big O from the movie, When Harry Met Sally. Many have been game to try it. No matter what you decide to enjoy, it’s great at Katz’s.
Don’t worry, if you get hooked on Katz’s offerings, they now ship around the country; allowing you to plan ahead for those cravings.

The drinks vary here, you may never get the same drink twice because it all depends on the freshest fruits found that day and your bartender. You tell your bartender what kind of flavors you like and they will make a custom drink, just for you with the fruits, herbs, and spirits they brought in.
The mixes are as varied as the mixologists, which makes this a fun place to try new things and get your five servings of fruit for the day.
If you don’t drink alcohol, there are drinks they can concoct for you, too. So, no worries about joining your friends who imbibe, a great time can be had by all

Personally love Hudson Hotel because it has many facets to it, there are three great places to quench that thirst: Hudson Bar, Library Bar, and the bar at the roof top terrace.
You can relax at the Library Bar in a quiet setting. You can play billiards, backgammon, read a book and/or enjoy the art of Toulouse Lautrec. The ambiance is gorgeous, rich, and lush.
Thursday nights is hot at the Hudson Bar it turns into Ladylove, a discotech with a lime green illuminated dance floor at 11 p.m. The dance songs are great for boomers as they play Blondie, Ozzy, Stevie Nicks, Creedance Clearwater, The Ramones…basically all the dance music we know and love. Unusual for Manhattan is there is no dress code and no cover. If getting out on the dance floor isn’t enough for you, then perhaps celebrity sightings is your thing. You won’t be disappointed here.
The third reason Hudson Hotel is a favorite is the roof top lounge, if you are a photographer, you will have found a jackpot of clicks here. The view of the city is incredible at night and here you get the full beauty of it. The plants, interesting chairs, and again the ambiance here make for a great evening.
Although, it is not a place to go on the week-ends and almost getting too busy during the week for my liking–about five years ago, this was more fun because it wasn’t as well known for its bars. Still, though, it is a definite place that will make your visit to Manhattan a joy.
